Upgraded pinion shaft and snorkel gear set for the Polaris General transmission. Replaces the factory pinion shaft and output gear with heavier-duty components designed to handle the increased torque loads from larger tires, portal gear lifts, and aggressive trail riding — addressing the weak point in the stock drivetrain that leads to gear tooth failure and shaft breakage.

Upgraded Pinion Shaft
The replacement pinion shaft is machined from stronger material than the factory shaft. The upgraded shaft resists the torsional stress and bending loads that cause stock shafts to twist and snap — particularly under the sudden torque spikes from rock impacts, hard landings, and aggressive throttle application on oversized tires.

Reinforced Snorkel Gear
The snorkel gear uses a wider tooth profile and harder material than the factory gear. The wider teeth distribute load across more contact area — reducing the point loading that chips and cracks stock gear teeth under the torque multiplication of portal gear lifts.

Matched Set
The pinion shaft and snorkel gear are sold as a matched pair to ensure proper gear mesh, backlash, and contact pattern. Installing mismatched components from different sources can produce uneven tooth loading that accelerates gear wear — a matched set eliminates that risk.
