Replaces the factory retainer that holds the pinion bearing in position inside the transmission case — restoring proper bearing preload and alignment when the original retainer is cracked, worn, or damaged from transmission rebuilds and heavy use.

Machined to match the factory pinion bearing retainer dimensions for Polaris transmissions. The retainer bore, outside diameter, and seal surfaces are held to tight tolerances — ensuring the pinion bearing sits at the correct depth and preload for proper gear mesh with the ring gear.

Maintains Bearing Preload
The retainer holds the pinion bearing at the correct preload — the amount of force that keeps the bearing seated against the gear. Too little preload allows the pinion to shift under load, causing gear noise and accelerated tooth wear. Too much preload overloads the bearing and generates excessive heat. A new retainer restores the factory preload setting.

Integral Seal Surface
The retainer includes the seal surface that the pinion shaft seal rides against. A worn or grooved seal surface allows transmission fluid to leak past the seal regardless of how new the seal is — a fresh retainer provides a smooth, unworn surface for a leak-free seal.
